Cade Dillard
Cade breaks while leading at Jackson, finishes fifth on Saturday
On Friday afternoon Cade Dillard returned with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series as they headed north to Jackson Motorplex (Jackson, Minn.) for the two-day event. With a runner-up finish in his heat race behind Chad Simpson sending him into the redraw, Dillard earned the second-starting position for the opening night feature. After setting the pace for the first 27 circuits, Cade suffered a broken right-rear wheel that dropped him to the tail. He rebounded in the remaining distance to finish 12th. (Jacy Norgaard photo)
After coming in fourth fastest in his group on Saturday, Cade streaked to a 10-lap heat race victory, which promoted him into the redraw. Starting on the pole for the $20,000-to-win A-Main, Dillard faded four spots in the 50-lapper to register a fifth-place finish. He trailed Dennis Erb Jr., Frank Heckenast Jr., Brandon Sheppard, and Chris Madden to the checkers.
Cade is currently sixth in the latest World of Outlaws point standings.
