Cade Dillard makes stops in Tennessee and Alabama with the World of Outlaws
On Thursday, Cade Dillard and his No. 97 Joel’s Auto Sales Dirt Late Model team kicked off three days of racing with the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee). Forty-seven cars dotted the pit area for the Seymour Showdown.
Dillard qualified 17th in his group on the 3/8-mile oval and finished eighth in his heat, putting the Robeline, Louisiana, driver in the first of two Last Chance Showdowns before the main event. Dillard came home eighth and was unable to advance to the 40-lap feature.
Action shifted west to the red clay of the 1/3-mile Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama) for the next two days as the Outlaws contested the inaugural Alabama Gang 100. A total of 62 Dirt Late Models assembled in the pits, necessitating three 20-lap preliminary feature races on Friday night.
Dillard started fourth and finished 15th in his heat, resulting in a 15th-place starting spot on the grid for the first feature race. He picked up one position to register a 14th-place result.
On Saturday, Dillard turned in a fourth-place effort in his heat, putting him in a Last Chance Showdown. He finished third, missing out on a transfer spot by one position. However, he was awarded a provisional into the 60-lap, $50,000-to-win feature.
Dillard started 27th and stormed forward 11 spots during the race, turning in a 16th-place finish in the weekend’s finale.
