Pair of eighth-place finishes in DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals at Volusia

To kick off his pursuit for the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series title, Cade Dillard returned to action on Friday evening at Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) for the second round of the fifth annual DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals.

After Thursday’s opener fell to weather, Cade’s fourth-to-second run in his heat on Friday evening positioned him on the sixth row for feature. With $10,000 on the line, Dillard improved three spots to register an eighth-place finish.

On Saturday, Dillard topped his 28-car group in time trials before picking up a flag-to-flag victory in his heat race. Lined up fourth for the $15,000-to-win A-Main via the redraw, Cade steered to another eighth-place finish in the 40-lap affair.

With two events complete, Cade is third in the World of Outlaws point standings.
